Some professions such as construction and hospitality generally require you to have certain basic qualifications before you can work in Australia. These can be obtained by completing a simple training course.

Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA)

This is a short course (ranging between a half day to full day) that educates you on the laws of serving alcohol and is required for anyone involved in the sale, supply and service of alcohol.

The requirements do vary slightly for each State and Territory.

 

Responsible Conduct of Gambling (RCG / RSG)

This is generally required for anyone working in or around gambling venues or places that have poker machines. It is a course to ensure that customers gamble in a responsible manner.

Barista training

This is not compulsory, but may be an advantage if you are looking for work in a cafe or coffee shop. There are many training providers that offer courses in this area.

Bar Skills courses

This is not compulsory, but may assist you if you are looking to work in a bar, pub or nightclub. There are many training providers that offer courses in this area.
