Beaches around Mallacoota

This small town is surrounded by kilometres of pristine sandy beaches. Some are more sheltered and most are exposed to the swells and rougher conditions of Bass Strait.

 

Bastion Point Beach

This is a popular surfing beach. The beach is also patrolled by life savers in the summer months.

 

Betka Beach

A sheltered beach beside Betka River, making it a good spot for swimming and other water activities.

 

Quarry Beach

Quarry beach is a rugged beach edged by colourful rock strata's. The beach is not patrolled.

 

Secret Beach

The beach is only accessible by a walking track, it is a lovely secluded place to visit.

 

Mallacoota Spit

This is a 7 to 8 km long south to south-east facing beach, also known as Big Beach. It is not recommended to swim here as it is a relatively isolated beach, dominated by strong rips.
