Geraldton is the main commercial centre in the mid-west with plenty of shops and services.
Along the Batavia coastline, which the city is located, you will find nice beaches, making this place a water sports haven particularly for surfing, diving and fishing and the consistent summer winds this city is one of Australia's best windsurfing locations. This place also has a nice all year round climate with generally warm, sunny weather.
Geraldton is a good base to see the stunning wildflower country from July to November and is the main launch point to travel to the spectacular Houtman Abrolhos Islands. These islands are great for diving, fishing and seeing some amazing marine creatures and bird life.
