About Shepparton

Population 57,000

Shepparton is located in the Goulburn Valley, which is a major agricultural and food processing region that provides some good seasonal fruit picking work for backpackers from September to June.

The city itself is the main regional centre to the area providing all relevant services. While you're here you could check out the Shepparton Art Gallery, or take a dip at the Aquamoves complex on the western edge of the lake, which is a state-of-the-art aquatic centre with pools, a waterslide, spas and sauna.

You could also spend some time exploring the Lower Goulburn National Park, which is highly scenic with narrow strips of vegetation along its meandering banks, whilst the adjoining River Red Gum forests and woodlands provide a striking contrast to the adjacent farmland.
