Yungaburra Highlights

  • A charming village and popular weekend getaway for the people of Cairns and is the largest National Trust village in Queensland.

  • Check out the Yungaburra Markets, the biggest and oldest market on the Atherton Tablelands, which sell local fresh produce, home made crafts, local wines, clothing and much more.

  • Visit Lake Eacham or Lake Barrine in Craters Lake National Park, where clear, blue lakes have been formed in volcanic craters.

  • Head to Lake Tinaroo for some water sports such as canoeing, kayaking, sailing, waterskiing and fishing.

  • Visit Mount Hypipamee National Park's spectacular diatreme, or what is commonly referred to as a volcanic pipe or vent, thought to have been created by a massive gas explosion.

  • Take a drive on the Waterfall Circuit, which includes the impressive Millaa Millaa Falls, Elinjaa Falls and Zillie Falls.

The charming village and popular weekend getaway for the people of Cairns, is situated in the heart of the Atherton Tablelands. The place has not changed much since its inception in the early 1900's and here you will find lovely 19th century architecture with 18 heritage-listed buildings, making it the largest National Trust village in Queensland.

This place has a good selection of nice cafes, restaurants and Aussie pubs, along with a variety of shops and galleries to explore.

Just outside of the town, you will find a host of wonderful natural attractions to experience, including Lake Eacham, Lake Barrine, Lake Tinaroo, the Waterfall Circuit and Mt Hypipamee National Park.

Yungaburra is also a good place to spot some of the elusive Platypus.
