About Tamworth

Tamworth is the Australian 'Country Music Capital' and home to the largest Country Music Festival in the Southern Hemisphere. During this ten day event each January, the city doubles in size with people coming to see the hundreds of country music shows and events happening in and around the city. Accommodation is scarce during the festival unless you have booked well in advance.
It is also recognised by many as the sporting horse capital of Australia, with various championships, races and shows regularly held in the district. There is also the ABCRA National Finals Rodeo held during the Country Music Festival every January.
