Port Macquarie is one of the larger and most popular resort cities on the New South Wales north coast. The city has the advantage of both river frontage (the Hastings River enters the sea here), and ocean beaches, which start virtually in town.

During summer the place is teaming with people who come here to enjoy what this holiday destination has to offer. The main activities here include surfing, swimming, diving, fishing, cruising the Hastings River or bushwalking (hiking) in the rugged geography that surrounds Port Macquarie.
