This town is well known for the tourist attraction - The Kiama blowhole. This is where water from the ocean washes into a rock cave and is forced up through a narrow rock formation and spouts up to 30 meters.
Kiama also has some excellent surf beaches that surround the town, or you can also visit the beautiful subtropical Minnamurra Rainforest, which is part of the Budderoo National Park. This is located 15km to the west of the town.
Kiama has a relaxed tourist feel to it and it is far enough from Sydney to escape city life, but close enough to reach by train in a few short hours.
