About Iluka

Population 1,900

Just across the Clarence River from Yamba is the more laid-back town of Iluka. The town is known as an excellent fishing spot and for its uncrowded swimming and surfing beaches.

Iluka is situated right next to the World Heritage - listed Iluka Nature Reserve, which is one of Australia's rarest rainforest remnants.

The Bundjalung National Park is also located at the northern edge of Iluka and continues all the way to Evans Head in the north. This park offers a range of things to see; including 38 km of beach, rainforest, heathlands, lagoons and wetlands. The park is great for activities such as canoeing, kayaking, swimming, surfing and fishing.
