About Brunswick Heads

Population 2,000

Just 20 km to the north of Byron Bay, Brunswick Heads is a more traditional coastal fishing and holiday town, that is located on the Brunswick River and adjacent to some very nice swimming and surfing beaches.

There are some good places to eat, particularly if you are looking for fish and chips or seafood in general. You can hang out at the classic Aussie pub - the "Bruns" (Hotel Brunswick). Situated on the Brunswick River. This is nice place for a cold beer and a good pub meal.

Surfers often pass this little town by as they head to the more well-known spots, but Brunswick Heads can get some decent swells on both sides of the breakwalls in the right conditions.

If you like a bit of nature, explore the Brunswick Heads Nature Reserve. Here you will find a subtropical rainforest and abundant birdlife.
