About Bellingen

Population 2,800

This small town is situated on the Bellinger River, surrounded by rich pasturelands and beautiful countryside, half way between Coffs Harbour and Nambucca Heads.

Bellingen is a centre for the regions artistic, creative and alternative population. For a small town, it offers visitors a unique combination of beautifully restored architectural heritage and a thriving cosmopolitan culture.

In the township you will find an eclectic range of shops from arts and crafts stores to organic places to eat. There is also the monthly market, which features around 250 stalls, live entertainment, and has a great atmosphere.

It is also located approximately half an hours drive to the World Heritage listed Dorrigo National Park, which is renowned for its boardwalks that take you onto the edge of the Great Escarpment to view the amazing rainforests. The park is also an excellent place for bushwalking (hiking), car touring and has some breathtaking lookouts and waterfalls.

Bellingen has a very relaxed ambience, making it a nice alternative to other holiday places in the north coast region.
